For today, it was a toss up between the above pic or, the one taken below.
However, since Ken called me out to a ‘Pool table shot’ Challenge, the I had to choose the “never retreat! never surrender!” slogan. It’s only fitting that it should be my response to Ken =)
I’m not one to back off from a challenge. (though I still don’t have a clue where I can bring a camera to a pool hall. The ones here in CA are shaaaady)

Technique was to suspend the glass base of the chess board, turn off all the lights, mount the camera on a tripod and hover a blue LED above the pieces. After a few attempts, I got the effect I wanted. But it’s interesting the change in mood you can bring in a picture by merely pointing the light upwards, as opposed to downwards.
